Okuma Coronado CD50, any problems?
#1
Does anyone have any experience with the Okuma Coronado CD-50?

I have been using Shimano's Baitrunner 4500 and 6500 and these are great reels, but the Okumas have been recommended as an equivalent and just as robust alternative.

The price is certainly attractive.

Anyone with experience care to comment?

Work is the space between fishing.

Welcome Scottie

I cannot comment personally on the Coronado. Have you used one at all or just looking at this stage?

Might pay to post a note down on the California board and up at Capt. Dan's board as well to cover your bases. If find from a board other than this one then drop back in and let us know what the "word" is ok.

Burnin Thumbs!

Steve B
Moderator Lures/Baits Forum
http://www.demonjigs.com

Thanks fellas,

I haven't used the Okuma, but if I get more information I'll post.

My thinking was that since the spare spools on the Shimano's run to about $30 odd and the Okuma's cost about $60, well you can see my drift.

The only experience I've had with Okuma's is a buddy who owns an Okuma Azul 90, he's had no problems and swears by it, but I've got to say he lusts after the Shimano 6500 though.

Tight lines

Scottie

Work is the space between fishing.
