Sacramento River Fishing
#1
Sacramento River salmon fishing continues to be real good! We're concentrating our efforts in the Woodson Bridge/Hamilton City area. Most days produce limits of nice Chinooks, ranging anywhere from 8-50+ pounds. Boondoggling, back-bouncing and mooching fresh roe, as well as back-trolling KwikFish are all effective.

In the Anderson/Redding area we're enjoying exceptional steelhead and rainbow trout fishing. The steelhead are going 5-10 pounds. The trout are averaging 2-3 pounds and going up to 6-8 pounders. Drifting bait and glo-bugs seem to work best. It's not unusual for anglers to hook 10-20+ nice fish per day.

Expect good fishing to continue into at least early November.

In November, we'll be temporarily dry-docking our jetboat and readying our driftboat for our coastal river season. We'll be back at our winter fish camp at the Ship Ashore Resort, right at the mouth of the Smith River. Expect King salmon in November and December and steelhead starting in mid-December and continuing through the end of March.

If you need any additional information, or would like to book a guided trip, visit our site at www.salmonandsteelhead.com.
