[#000000]Some bass are being caught from the dikes, but your best bet is from a boat. The bass fishing has been slow with most of the fish being caught late in the evenings. Carry a spotlight or large flashlight so you can find the marker poles on your way out. You need to get a fair ways from the landings to get to areas where the fishing pressure is lighter. Electric motors only on the refuge and gas motors must be completely removed from the boats. Plastic worms and lizards in dark colors seem to be the favorite. Trout fishing has been slow in the ditch, though some trout were taken from the deeper springheads by boaters. For more information call the refuge headquarters at (775) 779-2225.[/#000000] [/#800000]
