The water levels have dropped enough to make many of the streams fishable. Streams such as Tabor Creek, Bruneau River, Pearl Creek and Lamoille Creek are good bets. The upper half of Lamoille Creek was stocked with brook trout this week, so fishing should be good. Other creeks to try include Rattlesnake (get permission to cross 2U property), Sun Creek, and Gantz Creek. Fish the beaver ponds at the upper end of Lamoille with a mosquito or mosquito larva pattern. Grasshoppers on the surface and worms tumbled along the bottom work well. You can get into some of the alpine lakes now, and a perennial favorite pattern for fly fisherman is a black or carpenter ant pattern. Lakes with easy access include Smith in the East Humboldts, Lamoille and Island Lakes from the trailhead in Lamoille Canyon.
