#1
A San Diego sportfishing tradition, The Port of San Diego's Day at the Docks, is the West Coast's largest public celebration of sportfishing. The event is an exciting three-decade old phenomenon with a wide array of marine attractions for the sportfishing enthusiast and the whole family.

Symbolizing the official launch of Southern California's spring saltwater fishing season, Day at the Docks takes place on Sunday, April 18, 2010 against the colorful and dynamic setting of the world-renown sportfishing fleet on San Diego Bay.

D@D offers the public an opportunity to examine the latest innovations in fishing tackle displayed by the industry's leading manufacturers. Historical displays underscore how far saltwater tackle design has come. How-to seminars led by expert anglers reveal secrets to improve both technique and results. Casting competitions are held throughout the day challenging participants to demonstrate their casting skills for valuable prizes. Action-packed videos capture the excitement of local and long range adventures. Sportfishing captains showcase their vessels and stand ready to discuss their plans for the upcoming season.

In addition, there are boat rides on San Diego Bay, displays by marine artists and fishing tackle experts, great food, entertainment, fishing seminars, open house aboard sportfishing boats, kid's fishing, contests, prizes and more!

The San Diego Sportfishing Council is proud to have sponsored this special showcase of the San Diego Sportfishing fleet held Sunday April 18th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is absolutely free! You'll find plenty to see and do while you visit the San Diego Sportfishing Landings.
