The Maryland Chapter of Trout Unlimited will host Maryland Department of Natural Resources regional biologist, Charles Gougeon, presenting his annual status report on the trout population in the Gunpowder. Every year the fisheries service conducts electrofishing surveys at several stations on the Gunpowder. The Gunpowder is one of the top 100 trout streams in the United States.

Trout Unlimited is the nation's largest coldwater conservation organization, with 140,000 members dedicated to conserving, protecting, and restoring North America's trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds.
MDTU, the first Trout Unlimited chapter in Maryland, was founded in 1971 and currently has more than 600 members in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan Area.
