CITY CATCH Childrens Clinic Set for April 10
#1
The Maryland Chapter of Trout Unlimited in partnership WITH Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks will hold its annual children's fishing clinic at the Winans Meadow Trailhead of the Gwynns Falls Leakin Park trail on April 10, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.

CITY CATCH is a fishing clinic to teach children from Baltimore City how to fish for trout. We are hoping it will encourage fishing in stream valley parks in Baltimore and give children a nice introduction to trout fishing and the importance of clean, healthy streams.

The Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks selects 120 children ages 10 to 14 to meet Trout Unlimited volunteers in Leakin Park at 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 10. We have purchased a complete spin-cast fishing outfit to give to each child and will have stocked 1000 rainbow trout in Dead Run. We also have a simple instruction booklet which outlines the basics of fishing and talks about the importance of clean streams.

Trout Unlimited is the nation's largest coldwater conservation organization, with 140,000 members dedicated to conserving, protecting, and restoring North America's trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds.

MDTU, the first Trout Unlimited chapter in Maryland, was founded in 1971 and currently has more than 600 members in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan Area.
