Fished the Footesite Dam on friday , did pretty good considering it was very sunny .
I should have used a higher poundage mono , I wasn't expecting the fish to be that large after the last few years of fishing that part of the river .
4# test was a little too light, should have gone up to at least 8# test but didn't want to lose my spot on the river .
The fish weren't all that fresh looking , did see one in full rainbow color , the rest were pretty grey .
Flys didn't produce any hits , natural baits did rather well when they were hitting , I did better on waxworms than spawn .
If possible , make the walk to the far side and fling that bobber out , that's where the fish were holding .
Yesterdays rain might have pushed more fish up .
