Skinny water should be the key for BFL Mississippi anglers
#1
BRANDON, Miss. (Feb. 24, 2010) - The FLW Bass Fishing League is headed to Ross Barnett Reservoir March 6 for the first of five stops in the Mississippi Division series. As many as 400 pro and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000, respectively.

"Anglers should seek out the warmest, shallowest water they can possibly find," said FLW Tour pro Jim Dillard of West Monroe, La. "The fish could be in depths as little as 6 inches. They should search with Rat-L-Traps, tubes, and spinnerbaits around stumps and logs. Look for anything that holds heat."

Anglers will take off and weigh-in at Tommy's Trading Post of Mississippi located at 4238 Highway 43 North in Brandon, Miss. Take-off is at 7 a.m. while weigh-in is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Takeoffs and weigh-ins are free and open to the public.

Bass Fishing League competition is a 24-division league circuit devoted to weekend anglers, that offers even bigger prizes to qualifiers of the regional championship and those who make it to one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing - the BFL All-American presented by Chevy. Top winners in the BFL can move up to the American Fishing Series or even the FLW Tour.
