fishing hotspots this weekend
#1
well were expecting on and off thunderstorms thru-out the upcomming weekend , that might slow down the lake fishing but thats a big yee haa for us guys that hit the rivers and streams ! if your gonna hit a lake , go to where the running water emptys into it , you should do good there !

in the Whittemore-Hale area the bluegill fishing is fair as the gills are moving off of their beds and heading for deeper water. Fifteen foot is a good depth for gills right now and crickets and waxworms are working well. pike fishing is very good on most inland lakes and that there have been some nice perch taken on Londo Lake and good bass fishing on Long Lake.

Tawas reports that the salmon fishing is very good for those fisherman who choose to take the 45 minute boat ride to Port Austin. It could mean that the salmon are finally on their way to the Tawas and Oscoda areas. the walleye are hitting off of buoy 2 and that pike fishing off of buoy 4 has also been good. There has been some decent gill fishing on Tawas Lake. The East Tawas dock is slow for perch but for fishermen targeting pike, bass or browns the fishing could be good.

in the foote dam area the panfishing was good on both Cooke and Foote Ponds and the connecting waterway. Good number of bass and bluegill have been caught as well as some pike and walleye.

in Oscoda the lake trout fishing on Lake Huron is good and some salmon are starting to move in a little scattered from the cooler weather . it's getting ready to start for all you salmon guys , it wont be long ! There are also fair catfish and walleye up and down the lower AuSable River

There has been good catches of walleye on Otsego Lake jigging or trolling with a crawler harness.

The bluegill have been biting on all the lakes in Gladwin County , as long as you have plenty of worms ! find some deep holes for the bigger ones

Houghton Lake has been hot for pike and good for walleye in 12 foot of water on leeches and jigs and trolling with crawler harness , hey , my erie deries in silver and gold seem to be doing rather well near the deep holes .500 feet out of the s. boat ramp are hot for crappies !

Lake Margrethe by Grayling has started to produce walleye on leeches

Fife Lake's walleye are just starting to get a little vicous , cooler temps and getting some fat on for the expected long winter !

going for some walleys? long lake in traverse after dusk sets in .

detroit river from the ren cen on down to the wyndotte wall , green or black/pink jigs are the ticket for some walleye action !
