Artificial Baits

Hi guys I was wondering if artificial baits can be used for salt water fishing from a dock or a pier. I have been going to piers using live bait but I am curious whether or not artificial baits can be just as useful.

When your on fish, yes you can. I use different crankbaits when I'm near a school or searching for fish. But nothing beats fresh bait on a dock.
