Slip Indicator
#1
Went to a local "community pond" here in Southeast Idaho for an hour.

The weather was nice, so about half of Pocatello and a portion of Utah was there also! Kind of slow, but some were having fun with the little planters. The water has warmed up in the last week. It was 46 degrees last week and was up to 54 today. Amazing what two days of sunshine can do!

There was a large midge hatch going on, which was great because I specifically went to try some chironomid indicator (bobber!) fishing. A friend had sent me some slip indicators to try, and I was pumped to give it a whirl. I pulled out my rod and realized I didn't have my floating line with me! Just about every trip I forget something!! Oh well, I rigged the largest indicator on my full sinking line anyway. Wow, it held my line up and it worked! I used a black leech and a chironomid. Both did well. If I was moving to another area the leech seemed to pick up more, but if I was just drifting the midge did. Fun little break.
