Carpin at Mead
#1
I caught some Carp at Lake Mead over the weekend. We weren't getting bit on by stripers or cats so I threw on some corn to try to catch the fish we saw jumping (or their non-spawning friends). I landed two big ones, the largest over 24" and near 10lbs. Great fight on a 6lb rig.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend. Enjoy the pics.

I like to catch them. Carp are good strong fighters. In Europe there are tackle shops dedicated to carp fishing(angling).
Around the country people pay big money to catch them on flies.
They are good practice for someone wanting to learn how to fight and land a big powerful fish.
Carp are starting to gain a little respect in America for their fighting abilities.
Lots of people eat them too.
