If anyone is looking for something to do tonight, my band is playing at Diablo's Cantina at Monte Carlo Casino on the strip. $5 cover

Myself and the drummer are anglers when we're not rocking out! I hope it's not out of line for me to promote it on the board.

Nice! Good job on the win!
Gotta love some fellow rockers - That's what I do for a living.

I'll come see your band sometime- keep us posted on your play days!

I play in Darby O'Gill & the Little People, Whiskey Revival, and the Los Billionaires.

You all should come out to a show and support the local scene!

(sorry- I have to make this a shameless plug)

You can see my Irish drinking band Darby O'Gill & the Little People at Quinns Irish Pub inside Green Valley Ranch Casino every Friday and Saturday from 10pm -1am. We also play McMullans (Trop & Cameron, next to The Orleans) every Wednesday from 10pm-1am, and Henneseys on Fremont Street every Thursday from 10pm-1am.

If you don't like listening to drunk Irish music, you can catch Whiskey Revival, my outlaw country band, at the tiny Club Fortune Casino in Henderson every Sunday in June from 4pm-8pm.
I know what you might be thinking, but this is not some crappy country band- Worth checking out. I've never played with such a talented group of musicians- and Ive been around the block... It is all the REAL country, from the 1940's to the 1970's. And we've got a smokin' chick singer that kills it! Check out Whiskey Revival on Facebook.

Ok, I'm done stealing your thread. [Wink]

Seriously though- keep us posted on your next show dates- I'd love to check it out!

Thanks Whizzle. I've seen you guys play (Darby),lots of fun. I will catch you guys again at GVR here sometime soon. I'll check out the other two as well.

I sure wish I could make a living off playing music. No day job! really? Congratulations, you've made it! Hehe. But seriously, it's is really cool to know there's other musicians on the board. I sometimes bring a guitar along on fishing trips to pass the time when fishing is slow.

I've joked that if I had to choose between being a pro angler or a pro musician, it'd be a tough choice for me.

No worries about the thread. I'm glad it was received well. I half expected Tom to drop by and call me names j/k haha

If any of you reading hasn't seen Darby O'Gill, check them out. It's a lot of fun especially with some Guinness and Jameson in yer belly! Get out there and enjoy some live music!

Yeah, Eff a day job! It's working well for me. I left the sheet metal union 5 years ago and haven't "worked" a day since. I love my job.

I can't make the Wednesday show (got my own to play) but I'll make one eventually. Good luck on the competition!

thats pretty crazy. I hadn't heard of your band, but I've followed The Clydesdale for a long time, I have all the CD's. It looks like Miss Paige is in your band, too! (I think i recognize the bass player also?)
I'll definetly be checking you guys out....

Yes, she is. Wonderful singer. She is quite the addition to Whiskey Revival. The bass player is in Darby O'Gill with me also.

I'd assume you saw it, but there is a write-up in the Las Vegas Weekly on Whiskey Revival. You guys are a supergroup, eh! A friend of mine plays with Thom in Jaxy & the 357's. Small town. I'm definitely going to catch a show soon.

I stopped into GVR last weekend and caught a Darby set and enjoyed a black and tan. I'll be sure to say hello next time. Rock and fish on!

Whiskey Revival

Meet Whiskey Revival. More like get reacquainted. The cover band’s six members are already familiar faces on the local music scene. Vocalist Paige Overton is best known for fronting popular country folksters The Clydesdale, while vocalist Andrew Morris, drummer Jon Whisenant and bassist Alex LeCavalier share a stage together in Irish-pub cover group Darby O’Gill and the Little People. Lead guitarist Matt James plays with jam band Cherry Hill, and pedal-steel player Thom Ferman is a member of rockabilly outfit Jaxy & The 357s. Those distinct styles meshed together might sound like a strange cup of tea, but it actually makes for one solid shot of Whiskey.

What kinda Revival?: Breathing new life into classic country—we’re talking the ’70s and prior (think Patsy Cline and Waylon Jennings). “These songs are already established as hits,” Overton explains, “so it’s kind of fun to have your own take on something that already made its way into the world.”

Stomping grounds: Whiskey Revival has the next two Sunday nights—June 20 and 27—lined up at Club Fortune Casino (725 S. Racetrack Road) from 4-8 p.m. The group’s ultimate goal is to hit the casinos. “We’d like to play on the Strip more than anything,” Overton says. “You have more of a chance to fall on some ears that weren’t expecting you to be there ... [but] right now we’re testing the waters.”

Why get busier?: Whiskey Revival’s members—particularly Overton, who already has a side project, solo lounge act Paige of Spades—all have plenty on their musical to-do list. Guess there’s no such thing as too many gigs. “This gives me the outlet to have fun with the charming country music that I love so much,” Overton explains. “And it’s way better than karaoke.”

Club Fortune shows just got extended through the month of July. Every Sunday 4 to 8.
