Fluke up north, Stoneington, ct
#1
Hit the water at six with Bob and headed out. Saw some breaking water outside sandy point and threw some sluggos. Came back chomped in half, so we went to the grounds. I had the first three shorts when Bob pulls in a 27" 6.12lb beauty. Now we'er off to a good start. Short after short came in as we stopped counting at 30. Got a call from my father that he's at the dock, so we took a break to pick him up as well. Back at it till slack tide, when I could take a break from playing mate and unhooking my fish. Alot of doubles, but only the keeper. Called it at 1:30 as the out going tide wasn't as produtive. Went through 1 1/2 boxes of squid and three porkys for bait. Now if they can only get bigger. We did see some folks keeping all fish, I'm sure it will happen alot this year. Archie, your'er going to show me what???

I'll show how to find the Keepers
shorts seems to be the fluke story all over with these new regs they keep putting on us but there are keepers out there just need to tweak your baits a little try using a heavy Spro bucktail as your sinker and tie your baited hook trailing the spro about 20" flurocarbon leader.
thats it for lesson # 1 can't tell you all my secrets right away you must learn this technique first GRASSHOPPER

Why thankyou for the tip old flukeinson. Maybe I need to learn the fluke dance again. [Wink] I did try my whole squid as well, but no takers that day. They just wanted bucktails with small pieces.

The season has ended for us and my last trip produced the smallest fish this year.[frown] Alot of them, but nothing over 16" alot in the 13" range. We seem to be going backwards in sizes. I'll see if I can find some blues next week to keep the blood pumping.
