well, we got to the launching spot around 11 am. we got ready and launched at about 11:30-12:00.

WOW! IT WAS HOT OUT THERE! geez. especially with my neoprenes. I was thinking about not using waders at all but decided against it. oh well.

fish count:

Joe: 1 halibut... 13 inches 1 spotted bay bass...... 9 inches 7 sand bass up to 13"

Chris: 1 halibut 18 1/2" 5 sand bass.

It was a sub-par day, but oh well...thats fishin'!

[cool]You can always use the excuse of the full moon. Works for me.

Glad you guys got out and appreciate the report.

Were you able to get bait or were you slinging lures?

I was using plastics the whole day. I used a really dark green with a purple flake and got nothing. then I switched to the smoke with the silver flake, and just started catching them one after another. the bite slowed down for us around 4.

Those sparkle lead heads really make the difference. I wanted to try out the pink one with the black eye on them, but never got around to it. thanks a lot TubeDude. I appreciate it.

I got to get over there soon. I have been meaning to fish that area but I am sort of hooked on Anaheim Bay [cool]

I have had other friends who kayak that area say plastics work well too. Green and White with sparkles inside.

Maybe I will try Monday. I have not decided on an area to fish yet
