Grass Carp
#1
I fish a local canal that holds huge grass carp. i was wondering if there was any way to catch these monster carp besides snagging. I know their diet is mainly vegetarian but was hoping there was some other bait i could use to hook one of these giants.

Thanks a bunch,
Rob

Recommend the grass recipe fyi:

1. use tender and delicate grass tip growing on the bank where you fish. curl the grass around the hook with the fishing line and make a cast.

2. use cooked soft corn, easy to digest if grass carp swallows.

3. go to fishing shop and buy the bagged bait prepared specially for hooking grass carp.

they are much effective on fishing grass carp in the faraway region Asia.

Just don't practice catch-and-release with grass carp- those things destroy ecosystems and compete with native fish. I've heard of bread being used in England.

Here are some good uses for carp:
1. You can eat them

2. Garden fertilizer (bury them a few inches down)

3. Cut bait for catfish

4. Small ones make great bait

5. Cat food
