Interesting you should ask.

I'm planning on my first trip down on the Salmon River with another Fly-fishing buddy from Ottawa, Canada area.

The trip would be late February.

Wondering who I should contact for latest weather condition and fish activity.

Any suggestions?

The best way I can tell you to get information about the Salmon River is to do a Google search of it. Just about every outfitter, Guide, and Motel/ Hotel/ Camp Ground up there has a website that will provide info about the Rive and the Fishing one of my personal Favorite sites is www.fishthesalmonriver.com They have links on their site to the water line that will provide info about how fast the water is running. They also have links to the local weather. I myself have never gone up they this time of year I generally go up in October when the King Salmon are running I would love to hear how you did when you get back. Good Luck and happy Fishing.

Fished-it this past Sunday, February 6th, 2011.

A guy I filmed landing his fish with the help of his friend asked me if he was going to be on T.V., me replying "No, Youtube". Hope he's a member of this Forum.

Anyway, he's on the clip of * Fly-fisher doing it right.

Quentin fishing the Fly Stretch Catch & Release Only section, near the Hatchery cable on the Salmon River.

Nathaniel fishing the same stretch of the river. Filming the lower side of where I was standing, I almost slipped on the gravel rocks, so the camera registered a weird movement. Good thing I did not use "pure French Catholic language" during that moment. LOL

Here is a clip from my Moultrie Camcorder of the action of the picture. How not to fly-fish. First, no paying attention to your line; and Secondly, not applying any of the advice provided by fellow OFS members on what not to do on your first steelhead and/or salmon.
