WFN: World Fishing Network Returns As Official Sponsor Of Denver Trout Unlimiteds South Platte Pro-Am Carp Slam
#1
DENVER, CO - WFN: World Fishing Network, North America's only 24-hour fishing lifestyle network, will return as an official sponsor for one of Colorado's most popular fishing events - the 4th annual South Platte Pro-Am Carp Slam fly fishing tournament. Hosted by Denver Trout Unlimited on Aug. 21-22, 2010, the event raises awareness and funds for the reclamation effortsof the South Platte River as it flows through Metro Denver.

"Thanks in no small part to WFN's sponsorship and promotion of the event last year we received more exposure than in our two previous years," said Tim "Fishman" Emery, Director South Platte Pro-Am Carp Slam. "In fact, we expanded the event to offer an "open" format on Sunday to accommodate all of the increased interest."

The event offers professional and amateur anglers the opportunity to fish for carp competitively on Saturday August 21 and 22, 2010. The two-day event will be headquartered at Fuel Café and includes Lunch with key note speaker Mayor John Hickenlooper, an evening with live musical entertainment. In addition to the standard "Pro/Am" format, on Saturday, a new "Open" event was added on Sunday in direct response to last year's overwhelming public interest in participation.

"We commend Denver Trout Unlimited for all of their efforts including this beneficial fund raising event," said Mark Rubinstein, President of WFN. "We have a long-history of supporting conservation groups like TU, so it is our pleasure to sponsor the event and help raise funds and provide visibility for such an important cause."

Through its sponsorship WFN is providing much needed exposure for the event by advertising it on WFN and its website (www.wfn.tv). In addition a WFN camera crew will cover the event for a feature to air on WFN News on Aug. 24 at 7:30 pm ET, the Tuesday after the event. Other sponsors of the event include: Wells Fargo, Trout's Fly Shop, www.Fishexplorer.com, Oakley, Rio, Umpqua. Additional information is available at www.CarpSlam.org.
