rock fish

has anybody fished the rock fish recently??? how is it going.. and where?

Hey there DH_tubinjoe,

Chri's, Virg's, Port Hueneme and Channel Island Sportfishing Center landings have the consistant rockfish counts now with limit fishing. I notice that MDR sometimes has a count of whitefish and other deeper water fish that would make you think they are checking out the deeper, colder waters a little north of them in Santa Monica Bay's upper area.

I believe Redondo Sportfishing has a captian or two that likes to go after the salmon grouper, reds, and chuckleheads that can be caught off the edges of the Redondo 'canyon' and Rocky Point.

We fished for Reds and other stuff when they opened in the shoe and caught quite a few!! LOL,
