this Thanksgiving week I would like to take my son in law float tubing on a local lake... my problems are :

I have one tube so would need a second one..

My budget would be around 200 for the tube..

I don't know if they still have them, but Costco was carrying the Fish Cat 4 for $140.

I don't really know how good they are. I know that Sportsman's Warehouse used to carry them, and I have seen them there. I would assume that they are pretty light materials-- I would treat them as "delicate". You might try phoning or emailing the company.

Seems like I have seen them mentioned on the Float tube forum in the past. I can't remember if it was good or not.

I would consider the Grigg v8000 tube that is more like the Fish Cat in design with an inflatable seat.

Albino Trout got a used 6000 u tube by Grigg for his nephew. I think this model doesn't have an inflatable seat and you sit lower in the water. You might contact him on the materials.

Grigg mostly makes fishing rods and from what I have heard they are good quality. Doesn't mean anything though. It is probably good for a $150 tube. Might be light enough to double as a pack or travel tube for you.

thank you for the info cindy.. I have in my mind a quality tube that is priced above my budget.. LOL... in reality whatever I get for this Thanksgivings fishing will be left behind with me.. soooooo I was hoping to end up with a better (newer) tube than I have as the primary and the one I have as the seconddary...

but.. have not given up hope yet ... :-)... maybe I can talk tuben2 out of his h3 for 200... :-)

No, that was actually an old list, I didn't notice and catch that.
In Fact I bought that H3 and I believe Gibby has it now.
I didn't know Tubin2 bought one.
