Deer Hunting in New Hampshire is Big...REALLY Big
#1
CONCORD, N.H. - How big is deer hunting in New Hampshire? REALLY big, according to a new postcard campaign by the N.H. Fish and Game Department. A pair of parody postcards making the rounds feature old-time hunters in the woods, scouting for deer and finding perhaps more than they bargained for.

"The postcard images sprang from a discussion about the fine art of exaggeration in advertising," said Jon Charpentier, marketing and promotions supervisor for Fish and Game. "They're funny. While it's obviously not true that New Hampshire deer tracks are as big as a Volkswagen, we thought the images would give hunters a laugh, start a conversation and get them excited about getting out into the field." See the postcards at http://www.huntnh.com/reallybig.

One goal of the virtual postcard campaign is to get hunters to visit Fish and Game's website for the hunting information they need, including season dates, regulations, license prices, harvest reports and topo maps.

Fish and Game has also set up an e-postcard page so that people can send the "really big" postcards to their friends and hunting buddies, or post them to social media sites. Visit http://www.huntnh.com/reallybig. No actual postcards are being printed.

New Hampshire's regular firearms deer season opens tomorrow, November 10, 2010.
