[cool][cool]What a great I mean GREAT!!!! WEEK to be on the water. We camped at Rogers

Rock State Camp ground and moored the boat. Nothing like not having to mess

with the trailer all week. No rain and flies were not to bad. The small mouth Bass

would hit what ever you through in the water. We must have boated 200 Bass. As well

as rock Bass that were almost 2 lbs. each. Blue gills were also hitting hard

but the perch were harder to find. When we did get them they came in almost 50 feet

of water and suspended. Doing a drift over them worked best.

The small mouth Bass also liked a Konami worm set up across the hook not like a

normal threaded approach.

We also trolled around using down rigging for Salmon and Lake Trout. The lakers

were down about 149 feet out of my range by 50 feet. Salmon appeared to be suspended

in 50 to 65 feet of water but few and far between. Needless to say we did not

do well catching eather one. Maybe next time.

One special note: bring a good anchor with you one that works well in wind and

strong waves. We managed to break one anchor but still managed to retrieve

it. One hundred and fifty feet of anchor line as well because most of the time

you will be in 50 feet of water and you need three times the depth to get a hold

on the bottom. Good luck and stay safe. Chief

Hey Chief,
Thanks for the great report. I used to visit Lake George When I was a little boy. I have been living in Utah for about 10 years. 200 smallies in 1 week is great fishing no matter where you live. I miss fishing for the rock bass also. Did the smallies have any size to them. Were you useing live bait or just lures.
