Miami/Haulover Fishing Report
#1
SE wind @ 10-15, 3-5 foot seas, green water out to 400', and no current were the conditions today. We mostly fished between 180' in to 80' until our last two drifts. Most of our action came in the 125'-145' range. Our first drift produced a 10# kingfish on the down rigger. The next drift drew a blank. We moved south to off 71st Street where both the break away rig and a flat line were hit and neither outfit hooked up. Another drift and this time the stern flat line hooked up solid to a 12# dolphin. Another blank drift and I decided to go further offshore and find some blue water. At 400' we crossed the edge and set up a drift in 440'. At the color change, we were watching a turtle when the action started. Three quick hookups with schoolie size dolphin. We added two to the fishbox and had one give us back our hook when it made its 4th jump. A final drift over the edge and the half day trip was over. Joe, his brother, and two friends had some kingfish and dolphin fillets to add to the BBQ on tap for this evening.

Captain Dave Kostyo
Knot Nancy Fishing Charters
www.rnfl.com/knotnancy
nkostyo@bellsouth.net
