Lake St. Catherine Fishing Access Closed For Repairs
#1
WATERBURY, VT - The Fish & Wildlife Department's Lake St. Catherine Access Area will be closed for repairs to the boat ramp starting August third.

The access currently has a large propeller wash hole that drops off approximately two feet at the end of the ramp and has begun to undercut the concrete ramp. The propeller wash hole will be removed and ramp will be extended to avoid similar problems in the future. If there are no delays with de-watering the construction area around the ramp, the access may be open by mid-August.

Lake St. Catherine has two public access points, the second located at Lake St. Catherine State Park. The park's launch is shallow and sandy, making it usable for small boats. Alternative nearby lakes with Fish & Wildlife access areas for boating and angling can be found to the north on Lake Bomoseen, Lake Hortonia, Burr Pond, and southern Lake Champlain.

Similar work is scheduled for the Kent Pond Access Area in Killington. However, this ramp is currently unusable, so shutting down the ramp should not impact as many users.
