Lake Mead Fishing Report
#1
Most of the stripers still boiling over open water, early and late in the day. Some boils seen at the mouths of large coves, which is promising, but will be better at the end of Sept.,when water cools.Jigging spoons are taking alot of fish, when the topwater slows.Best to have iron ranging from 3/4 to 2.5 ounces for changing conditions, tied on 15 to 20lb. test for bouncing them in.Thermocline seems to be from 40 to 70ft.,so marking your line at 50 or 60ft. or using a line counter reel keeps you in the zone faster and longer. We hope netting shad starts getting easier, nothing like the live stuff when things get slow.Good Luck--CapnJ
