Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
We've been gone for a couple of weeks and it's good to get back on the water. Crappie fishing has really improved the past week. Some really nice catches have come on minnows along the drops at the mouths of the bays on both lakes. Jigs cast around brush in about 10' to 12' feed of water is catching some good fish during mid-day. Smallmouth are good along the gravel banks in Kentucky Lake. Most are being caught on jig/pork combinations in dark colors. Largemouth are spotty along the deeper points. Bluegill are slow as well as whitebass. Catfish are being caught below the dams on nightcrawlers and cutbait. Remember that fishermen are not allowed within two hundred yard of the dams since September 11. We have a major rain and cold front on us today, which will slow fishing for a few days.

TIP: Remember to fish slow as the water cools.

BITS AND PIECES: Always look for the good, the bad will show itself.

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
