The Cure For Cabin Fever Is The Eastern Fishing & Outdoor Expo

DOVER, NH - Have you got cabin fever? Well, we have the cure. In just a few days, the 35th annual Eastern Fishing & Outdoor Exposition will open its doors to anglers, hunters and outdoor enthusiasts searching for a break from winter and itching to get a preview of what spring will bring. Presented by KeepAmericaFishingâ„¢, the Expo is being held February 10-13, 2011, at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass. Expo exhibitors include guides, lodges and charter boat captains from all over the country and numerous retailers who will be stocked with gear and equipment of every kind. Many manufacturers will also be in attendance to showcase and demonstrate their product lines.

From avid anglers and hunters to moms, dads and their children, the Expo features numerous fun activities and events as well as entertaining and informative seminars and information sessions from national and regional experts and television personalities such as Expedition Great White's host, Chris Fischer. Additionally, attendees can register for an impressive line-up of prizes, including a trip for two to Zancudo Lodge in Costa Rica.

"We truly do have something for everyone at the Expo," said Show Director Jonathan Sauers. "We hope that you find whatever you're looking for in the next aisle or around the next corner. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, you do not want to miss the Eastern Fishing & Outdoor Exposition."

Outdoor enthusiasts lucky enough to live in the Worcester area can attend a presentation by National Geographic's Expedition Great White's host, Chris Fischer. Fischer, host of the award-winning National Geographic's Expedition Great White, will describe how he and his team of expert anglers have been working to unmask the secrets of the world's largest predatory fish. To date, in an unprecedented effort, the team has caught, tagged and released 23 Great White sharks. Fischer has also hosted Offshore Adventures, a two-time Emmy Award winning television series chronicling life at sea. Fischer's presentations are scheduled for Friday, February 11, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 12, at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Chris is only appearing at the Eastern Fishing & Outdoor Expo; so you don't want to miss this rare opportunity to hear him describe his adventures with some of the world's most fearsome creatures."

Sunday, February 13, is Family Fun Day presented by Plano. Kids will have a blast with fun activities such a scavenger hunt, virtual fishing simulator and gemstone and fossil hunting exhibit. Sunday also includes a bird box building activity presented by Ducks Unlimited. Children 11 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult and the first 200 children in the door on Family Fun Day will receive a free Plano tackle box. The 5,000 gallon Hawg Trough will be stocked with monster largemouth bass for pro anglers to demonstrate their techniques.

Looking for a high-energy fly fishing experience in the middle of winter? Look no further than the International Fly Fishing Festival debuting at the Worcester show on Friday, February 11, 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, February, 12, at 4:30 p.m. Produced by professional and amateur filmmakers from all corners of the globe, the festival showcases the passion, lifestyle and culture of fly fishing. This is an exclusive Northeast event and a don't miss Expo event!

Wildlife lovers will enjoy getting the chance to get up close and personal with Brody, a 1,400 pound Kodiak brown bear who has appeared in many television shows, films and commercials. His handler Jeff Watson takes Brody around the country educating the public about bears and backcountry safety. Brody will be joined by grizzly cub, Max, who is making his first public appearance. Another new and exclusive feature is a canine athletic competition held by the Hudson Valley Chapter of Dock Dogs International.

Bass anglers looking to improve their skills should attend the American Sportfishing Association (ASA) Bass Academy on Friday, February 11. This concentrated classroom program features notable professional anglers Mark Zona, Zell Rowland and Danny Correia. Whether you are a budding pro looking to gain the edge over the competition or a novice trying to pick up the basics, the Bass Academy is a great way to learn from the best. The Expo has an extensive seminar series that is sure to interest all types of outdoor enthusiasts. Saturday, February 12, is Saltwater Superday. Anglers have the opportunity to learn from saltwater pros such as Captain Dave Chieffo, Ron Arra and Mike Laptew. Hunting is also represented on Sunday, February 13, with Whitetail Superday. This day will feature a continuous series of whitetail seminars by some of America's greatest hunters including the Deer City USA Team of Tim Andrus, Steve Gruber and Mark Millis along with "The Deer Doctor" Peter Fiduccia.
