we hit the water right at sun up. light breaze and no waives. had some trubles with a bat connection but got to our spot we wanted to start. started off with chucks neffew hitting the first eye. his first ever. then he hits another. chuck and myself nada. well in a short while i hit 1 then another then the kids hits another then chuck wacks a 29 in chanle cat. that took a while the fought hard. the water was glass most the day we never moved moore than 100 yrs all day. fish were there. we boated 8 walleye 1 cat and 1 white bass. i saw over 35 walleye caught yesterday between 6 boats. great first open water trip..[cool]

that explains why the season is closed in michigan... lol

the eyes do like to bite over their spawning beds much like any other species protecting their spawing beds.
