Bear Lake Fishing Report:

Bear Lake is now entirely ice free. Boat launching is available at the Utah State Park marina, and the east side boat ramps at First Point, Rainbow Cove and Cisco Beach. Boat ramps are totally clear of ice and snow at this time and courtesy docks have been installed at all locations. Water levels are rising and Bear Lake should be at the highest level in over 11 years! Boat anglers are using tube jigs and jigging spoons tipped with cisco and jigged right on the bottom in about 60-70’ of water for cutthroat trout and lake trout. Fishing has been fair off Gus Rich Point and along the west side of the lake from the marina northward to Fish Haven Creek. The area off the mouths of the Utah tributary streams will remain open to fishing until April 15th after which they will be closed to protect spawning cutthroat trout. Boat anglers who are trolling are doing the best and have reported good catches of cutthroat and lake trout using spoons and small (#7) Rapalas.

There are is very little snow anywhere along the east or west sides of the lake at this time. Paved roads are also clear of snow or ice.
