For all of you fishing saltwater in 2011, off the east coast, make sure you keep checking on the fishing regulations put out by the SAFMC and DNR. They are continually changing things, especially for the grouper/snapper complex fish. Also on the chopping block are the Mackerel species, and I believe Cobia.
Just a friendly heads up. They've been trying to sneak a few more BS regs in there. Don't be affraid to send the SAFMC, your congressman, and who ever else emails and letters to protest bans that make no sense; like the Seabass ban for instance. Every email makes a difference. I support conservation as much as the next guy, but the seasons and restrictions that have been posted lately are just bogus.
