Trout season at Lemolo and Diamond Lake opens Saturday
#1
ROSEBURG, Ore. - Lemolo Reservoir and Diamond Lake trout anglers can begin fishing this Saturday, April 23 when the season officially opens.

Lemolo Reservoir has a good population of large brown trout that should be ready to bite. The road has been plowed to the dam area where there is open water. Currently, much of the reservoir is still slushy and water levels are too low for boating, but there is good bank access. Fish stocking will continue once the water level rises.
Diamond Lake is currently a mix of ice, slush and snow, and anglers are advised to be cautious. Those who choose to ice fish are reminded that man-made ice holes can be no larger than 12 inches in diameter or length. Contact Diamond Lake Resort for current ice conditions at 1-800-733-7593.
Anglers are reminded that starting May 1, the Diamond Lake harvest limit increases to eight legal-sized trout per day with one trout over 20 inches. That temporary rule is in effect until Oct. 27, 2011.
Many other area lakes and reservoirs have been stocked and anglers can check the trout stocking schedule on the ODFW Web site at www.dfw.state.or.us.
