April 25, 2011

ROSEBURG, Ore. - The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) and the Rogue SMU Fall Chinook Conservation Plan advisory committee will meet Monday, May 2 at the Chetco Public Library, 405 Alder Street, Brookings. The meeting runs 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and the public has time to comment at the end of the meeting.

Committee work will focus on development of statements for desired status and conservation status and will also vote for preferences on alternative management strategies. These products will be included in the draft conservation plan which will then be distributed for technical review.<br />
The conservation plan covers populations of native fall chinook salmon in Oregon streams between Euchre Creek and the California border and the Rogue River Basin. Guided by ODFW's Native Fish Conservation Policy, the plan will identify desired and conservation status and describe management strategies to reach these goals.
