June 1ST
#1
As of June 1st, the black seabass season opens back up, and it will be worth making the run to deeper water for bottom fishing. The saltlicker and regular crew are working the details of our first deep water trip of the 2011 season. Probably going to leave out of Murrells Inlet on the morning of June 4th, that first Saturday. We've got high hopes for the trip, and hope that the weather and fish cooperate.

Anyone else planning on a bottom run after the final ban lift?

We've got a firm appointment for offshore on the 4th. Myself, the owner of the Saltlicker Ken, and good friend Dennis Matherley. (owner of Pee Dee Wildlife Control) South's Finest Sporting Goods here in Florence has been gracious enough to stock up our favorite buck tails and hooks, and also some of the back up frozen bait we'll take. There are a lot of boats looking offshore in the Murrells Inlet and Georgetown areas for that weekend. Looking forward to getting on the water. I was hoping to hear from other anglers making their way out in the near future, and from some that have already been out and get a report.
