Wash. and Ore. authorized to remove salmon-eating
Calif. sea lions

It's about time!!

I live in SoCal and every time I go fishing in the ocean, up pops a sea lion or several of them. Of course, they scare the fish away so you have to move to another location. There are way too many and it's illegal to harm them so their numbers have increased exponentially. I'm waiting for a great white to take a chunk out of someone who goes for a swim at the beach. Last year I saw a dead seal with it's head gone, no doubt the result of a great white. The Great White population goes up with the sea lion population.

I heard of a guy who was fishing in Santa Monica Bay years ago. He caught a huge white sea bass. Of course, he's lucky he could land it because of the hungry sea lions. A sea lion followed him all the way back to Marina Del Rey (appx. 10 miles). When he docked his boat, the sea lion jumped onboard looking for the sea bass. Incredible.

The salmon fish stocks should benefit from this hugely.
