Lake Pueblo State Park Celebrates Free Fishing Weekend

PUEBLO, Colo. - Lake Pueblo State Park will celebrate the annual free fishing weekend on June 4-5 when a fishing license is not required, although all possession limits, fishing methods and bait methods still apply.

On Saturday, June 4 the park will also host the annual kids fishing derby at Lake Pueblo State Parks Anticline Pond. The first hundred children to arrive will receive a free fishing pole and bait, compliments of the Colorado Division of Wildlife. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and fishing starts at 8 a.m. and continues until 10 a.m. Prizes will be awarded in various categories as well as door prizes. The derby, open to kids ages 3 to 12, is free but a valid park pass is required on every vehicle that enters the park.<br />
