A North Branford man has quite a fish story.
On Thursday night, Greg Myerson caught what just might be a record-setting striped bass at 81.8 pounds in the waters off Westbrook, according to Jack’s Shoreline Bait & Tackle in Westbrook. It was weighed in on Friday morning.
If the fish was properly documented, it would be eligible for a world record, [url "http://www.onthewater.com/fishing/81-pound-striped-bass-update/"][#212126]On the Water reports[/#212126][/url], but Myerson took the fish home rather than pursue the official record.
The existing record is 78 pounds, set by a New Jersey fisherman in the 1980s.
