My fast-growing son caught a 6 3/4" green sunfish from Mantua last weekend....biggest one I've seen since I've fished there. I know they get bigger though. Isn't the record green sunfish 10" or along those lines?
Agree with TD, conditions have to be just right for the record-class fish; and their rate of growth slows way down after a certain length.
