Anglers have reported good success for striped bass throughout the lower basin to the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW). Boaters fishing in the area of Saddle Cove, Sand Island and the Hemenway wall landed stripers that ranged from 2 – 3 pounds. Anchovies were landing the fish. Boaters in the Pumphouse Cove area also reported good success and that stripers weighing up to four pounds were feeding on threadfin shad. Shore anglers had only limited success because the fish were out of casting range.

NDOW creels census clerks said that anglers fishing the upper basin were also having very good success for largemouth bass. Boaters fishing in the vicinity of St. Thomas and Fish Island were landing fish that ranged from 1½ - 2 pounds. Crankbait was the bait of choice.
