BASS FISHING TOURAMENTS
#1
Hi fisherman,
I am a 16 year old kid who has been fishing since I was a little boy. All in my life I have been fishing in touraments for three years and won first place 3 times in a row. Many of my friends wanted to challenge me in Bass fishing touraments and I won. I have beaten many grown ups in my life. Lots of you guys must think i'm lying but i'm not. Many guys say that I should be in touraments but for a 16 year old kid, I don't know how I get started in this kind of stuff. If any of you Bass fishing Pro's want to help me Please I need your help If anyone what's to see If I'm telling the truth and see if I can get in touraments I will show you what I got. I think Fishing is Life. So please any of you guys think you can help me Please do.

Thanks

bass fishing

Well BassPro the key to Pro Bass Fishing comes down to one thing "Sponorship". If you don't get sponsors you won't be fishing with the pros for very long unless you're indenpendently whealthy.

What Sponsors Want?

The fact is that no one knows exactly what a sponsor wants from an "image vehicle" (angler). What a sponsor wants depends on what a sponsor needs, the type of program it is launching and the demographic it's trying to reach. This is why some deals are good for some anglers, but not a good fit for others.

Sponsors try to match the object of their desire (consumers), the nature of the campaign and the pro in a seamless shell so the whole thing works.

Good Fishing Isn't Enough

Here are a couple bitter truths about sponsorships in bass fishing. First, the fact that you, as a pro, are a competent angler does not carry much weight. There are a lot of guys who can catch fish like few can, but most have none of the more desirable skills that sponsors need.

It's a given that all BASSMASTER Tour anglers are great fishermen. Some have more talent than others, but any one of them could win any tournament at any time on any lake. Possessing great skills as an angler is no more than a ticket to the sponsor game.

What sponsors really need is an articulate person with above average speaking, presentation and written-word skills. Look at the guys getting the deals and you quickly get a feel for the type I'm referring to.

Throw in some business skills and you really start walking the walk. Learn how to maneuver around a profit-and-loss statement coupled with the skills outlined above, and you can write your own ticket.

How To Get These Skills

If you're needy in the above areas, my suggestion would be to spend some time in the classroom. The sport is quickly getting to the point where all of the hot younger anglers have four- year college degrees.

At the very least take some public speaking and English composition classes at your local junior college. These skills will serve you well in many areas of your life, and certainly will help separate you from the crowd when you become a full-time professional angler.

So at 16 what would I do? 1st stay in school! Plan to get a degree, and in the meantime fish the BFL to keep your tournament skills sharp. If you're as good as you say, you can even bring home some decent checks! even on the Co-Angler side.

To conclude, these skills in conjunction with high-level angling skills are what you'll need. Until you have both, you aren't ready to provide value to a sponsor.

Tight Lines!

John

http://www.thebassguide.com
