2012 BFT YEARLY BASS CONTEST Sponsored by WaveFishing.Com!!!
#1
[inline wave_fishing_468X60.gif]

This year the mods can play as well. Just use anything that has BFT-2012 on it. We have stickers available; If you need one send gdn443 or fsh4fun05 a pm. This year’s prizes are $200 worth of Bass Pro Shops gift card as well as two wavefishing.com certificates. Wave certificates are for runners up. Good luck and tight lines this year.

NEW: ADDED 4 MORE WAVEFISHING.COM $25 E-Gift Certificates for "The best pics with anglers holding their bass with a WAVE Bait in the photo!! 4 winners!

1: Include a ‘BFT’ (BigFishTackle.com) sign or sticker with ‘2012’ in your picture.
2: A tape measure/ Golden Rule below, above or under the fish so all measurements can be clearly and legibly read shall be placed in picture.
3: Zones 1,2,3-fish need to be 19 inches in length.
4: Zones 4-5-need to be 22 inches in length.
5: The registered member with the most pictures of largemouth bass over the required zone size limit will be the winner.
6: Largemouth Bass only.
8: Two categories: One for the most bass over minimum zone length and one for most fish posted in the thread over 14”. There will be a One hundred dollar gift card from Bass Pro Shops to each winner.
10: The 2011 winner can compete, but is not eligible for prizes.
11: Pictures shall be added to the members original post.
12: Any suspicious pictures will be omitted.
13: It is not our job to determine the length of a fish if it does not meet the length requirements.
14: This is important-keep all posts relative to the 2012 contest.
P.S. I am a data geek, I have the ability to take a close look if a fish is questionable. Pics will be scrutinized and if they are not what they claim to be or if there is no way to tell the length the pics will be deleted. I will save these pics to assure that they are not used again, questionable pics will not be used in any other contests related to the bass fishing contest.
In layman's terms: If you claim a fish is 19+ inches and I find that the fish is not 19+ inches that picture will be omitted from the contest or other contests that are held no matter the size.
The zones are displayed in the picture below. If you have any questions about what zone you are in please ask gdn443 or fsh4fun05.

[#ff0000]19" or Above thread for Mike.

ENTRY #1) 19" 4lbs 7oz.[/#ff0000] Caught 2/27/2012 at Valentines pond on a 1/2 oz white modified spinner bait. It originally was a dual willow blade but I replaced the large willow with a giant Colorado blade. Caught about 30 minutes before sunset.

[inline 19.JPG]

[#ff4040]ENTRY #2) 20" [/#ff4040]With tail closed and mouth closed.
[#0060bf]5lb 1oz.[/#0060bf] Caught at Valentines.
Story: Got there at 1pm today with winds howling at 20mph with gusts to 30. I was getting backlashed every other cast with usual smaller white spinner baits so I switched to 3/4oz bullet weight and Texas rigged worms.
Fished until 5:30pm without a strike even changing up the worms and soft plastics.
At 5:30 I changed back to a large chartreuse single gold Colorado blade spinner bait with a White 4" swim bug trailer (wavefishing.com lure). Made about 5 casts down the bank and having a hard time getting it anywhere near shore, the wind even blew it up on bank a few times.

Finally one cast landed about 40yds down the bank and about 1 foot from the bank. Halfway back in BAM! I knew immediately it was one of the best Largemouth I had hooked in years.

This is my best Largemouth Bass in around 6 years. Yahoo! I wanted a pic of me holding it but I was there alone, and I catch and release, so this is the only image I will have of it...

never figured the first fish on the first day would turn out the biggest for us. It did go 4/10, but hoped for bigger. Seemed short to me so I didn't put the ruler to it. Maybe next year,

Finally beat my old record with a 6lb 4oz Lgmouth. She went 22". Picture is terrable, but I'll still take bragging rights, even though you can't see the tape. Knowing that I boated this fish is better than winning. Should have thrown it in the live well for later.
