Where to river fish near Denver this Thursday?
#1
I am in Denver for a few days for a training at RE/MAX headquarters and wil have some free time to fish with a buddy on Thursday. We have waders and all our river gear. Would like to fish a river that is within 2 hours of Denver, up in the mountains and requires a small hike in so we can find some isolation and low pressured waters.

PM me if you would like. Hoping to catch some big browns and bows but also love brookies and cutts. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

drive the extra 30 minutes and hit antero and 11 mile. if rivers are your thing bust out the fly rod and hit the south platte in 11 mile canyon unless you like crawling on your belly sight fishing to gigantic browns and rainbows that has seen every fly/lure known to man on the dream stream section. cherry creek and aurora res are also very close to town and aurora kicks out huge bass all the time too, cherry creek you can pull big wall eye on one riod and a big trout on the toher rod. if you need a very quick fix the south platte runs through town.

as for the isolation bring your snow shoes you will likely need them. look around the leadville area on a map and have a ball tons of lakes up there.
