Coming back to Myrtle Beach in Early March

Just curious, since I will be doing more golfing than fishing on this trip the first weekend in March, what could be around the Northern End of Myrlte Beach in the surf? Also, what is best to use at this point in the year? Is it worth bringing a rod or two?

Last time down in August, hurricane! the day we were packing up, the surf was calm and the first sign of fish on the surface! 9 days of waiting for this and of course it happened as I was loading the car!
