Stagecoach State Park Hosts First Fishing Tournament

OAK CREEK, CO. - Stagecoach State Park will host its first ever ice fishing tournament, organized and sponsored by guiding company Steamboat Great Outdoors, on Saturday, March 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the reservoir. The tournament is limited to 200 adult and 50 youth entries. Adult registration is $45 and youngsters are free.

All 2011 Colorado Parks and Wildlife regulations apply, including fishing limits.

The tournament is limited to trout species only. Prizes for landing one of the largest trout include a power auger, ice huts, ice rods, and cash. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Oak Creek Fire Corps. A valid park pass is required and carpooling is highly recommended, as parking may be limited. OHV's and snowmobiles are permitted on the reservoir below the high water mark only for the purpose of accessing ice fishing sites. Pets are welcome, but must be kept on a 6-ft. leash at all times.
