LOVELAND, CO. - Boyd Lake State Park will open to boating on Saturday, March 3 at 8 a.m.
All boats must be registered for 2012 and inspected for aquatic nuisance species (ANS) before launching. Boats may be registered at the Boyd Lake State Park Office. The park office is now open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.<br />
The ANS inspection station hours will be: March 3 to April 30, Monday-Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday-Sunday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and May 1 to Oct. 1, daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.<br />
If boats wish to launch outside of the inspection hours they must be pre-inspected for ANS prior to launching. For questions or more information, please visit the website at www.parks.state.co.us or call Boyd Lake State Park at 970-669-1739.<br />
Boyd Lake State Park will permit swimming in certain designated no wake areas - please contact park staff for additional information.<br />
Boyd Lake is participating in the effort to curb the spread of aquatic nuisance species, including zebra and quagga mussels, in the state's reservoirs and waterways. All vessels entering and leaving Highline Lake will be inspected for ANS. If ANS are detected on any of the watercraft, decontamination is required. To speed up the inspection process, boaters are encouraged to clean, drain and dry their vessel, including removing the plug to drain the water, prior to entering the park and as soon as the watercraft has left the water.
