Lake Pueblo State Park Starts Summer Boating Hours on March 15
#1
PUEBLO, Colo. - Lake Pueblo State Park will begin its summer boating hours on Thursday, March 15. On that day, boat ramps will be open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Throughout the year, all boats must be inspected for aquatic nuisance species (ANS), including quagga and zebra mussels, prior to entering the water.

The mandatory boat inspection program was implemented in 2008 to prevent the spread of ANS, which can harm water delivery systems and fisheries.
Lake Pueblo is open to boating 24 hours a day, but boats can only be launched when the inspection stations are open - 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. during the summer months. When the stations are closed, the gates to the boat ramps will be locked and no boats will be able to enter or leave the water.
The 2012 winter season for boating will start on October 15. Winter boat ramp and inspection station hours will be from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"Boaters can still fish or stay on their boats 24 hours a day. However, they will only be able to launch and load when the ramps and inspection stations are open," said Brad Henley, Lake Pueblo State Park's manager.
