"With free admission, San Diego's Day at the Docks features everything new in gear and tackle with live local entertainment plus raffles of thousands of dollars of fishing equipment donated by sponsors and exhibitors. Visitors can match their casting or knot tying skills and take home fantastic prizes. We'll have kids' fishing in stocked mackerel pens, games and drawing contests. There's even a Captain's Dunk Tank for youngsters and the young at heart," said Catherine Miller, event director.

Day at the Docks highlights include boat rides on San Diego Bay, displays by marine artists and fishing tackle experts, near non-stop entertainment, fishing seminars, cooking seminars and open house tours aboard sportfishing boats.

A variety of food and drinks will be available throughout the venue.

For anglers itching to get the season started, sportfishing captains will be on board to showcase their vessels and stand ready to discuss plans and schedules. There will be action-packed videos that capture the excitement of local and long range adventures. And for those looking for a trip down Memory Lane, a historic display will underscore how far saltwater tackle has come.

How-to-do-it seminars by expert fishermen promise to reveal secrets on improving both technique and results.

The day will have more than 200 exhibitors featuring fishing tackle, marine art, clothing, accessories and services.
