2012 Columbia Sportswear Jacksonville Kayak Fishing Classic
#1
JACKSONVILLE, FL - April 11, 2012 - JaxKayakFishing.com, Northeast Florida's online kayak fishing community and host of the 2012 Columbia Sportswear Jacksonville Kayak Fishing Classic on May 11-12 is pleased to announce more than 350 anglers have already registered to compete for over $80,000 in prizes and gifts, and over 400 kayak anglers are anticipated again at the world's largest kayak fishing event.

The 2012 Classic will feature new kayak designs and products from the world's leading kayak and accessory manufacturers as prizes and in charity raffles for the Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville. The new kayak designs include Ocean Kayak's Trident Ultra 4.3 and Tetra 12 Angler, the Jackson Kayak Cuda, the Freedom Hawk Explorer 14, the Native Watercraft Mariner 12.5 Propel Angler, the Hobie Mirage Revolution 11, and the NuCanoe Frontier 12. Exciting new products featured include YakAttack's VISICarbon Pro, ParkNPole, and GearTrac systems, floating fishing rods from Overboard Rods, and Greenfish CPR Camera Mounts.

Ocean Kayak's Trident Ultra 4.3 is a new design from 'down under' that improves on the 4.7 Trident design. This fast 14' boat has a multifunctional reversible center hatch, Comfort Zone seat back, and improved hatches and options. The Ultra 4.3 has an oversized tankwell designed to take the Ice Box Storage Pod, four flush mount rod holders, a replaceable wear strip pn the tail, and has scuppers setup perfectly for transducers. The Ultra 4.3 will be the first place prize in the Classic Slam division in 2012.

The Jackson Kayak Cuda is Jackson's first big water fisherman's kayak and is loaded with features. At 14.3' and almost 30" wide the Cuda can handle a big load in big water, and its sleek low profile design makes it stable and fast. The Cuda has all the accoutrements anglers have come to expect from Jackson including the comfy elite hi/lo seat, a highly configurable center hatch, and stagers for rods and tackle boxes right where you need them. The Cuda will be the first place prize in the Classic Trout division in 2012.

Freedom Hawk's new Pathfinder is the first Freedom Hawk specifically designed for offshore and openwater fishing. The Pathfinder features an upswept bow with extra volume and flare for added dryness and a soft smooth ride in even the worst open water conditions. New storage features include a molded in tackle console behind the angler seat and an oversized bow hatch for internal storage. Combine the Pathfinder hull with Freedom Hawk's patented inline outriggers and other features designed to make 360 degree standup fishing easy and see why the Pathfinder will be the first place prize in the Classic Redfish division in 2012.

The Native Watercraft Mariner 12.5 Propel Angler is one of the most angler-friendly pedal designs to come on the market. The Mariner offers a stable ride whether sitting and pedaling the Propel drive in forward or reverse and a stable roomy platform for standup fishing. The tunnel hull works well inshore and offshore, and the Ait-Lite seat suspends the angler in cool comfort. Plug and Play mounts for your accessories and a wide open rear deck make the Mariner everything its name promises. The Mariner will be the first place prize in the Classic Flounder division in 2012.

Ocean Kayak Tetra 12 Angler is a new 12 foot design that incorporates the Mod Pod II fishing pod in the center console, two flush mount red holders, and the Comfort Hybrid seat back. The Terta 12 is perfect for small to medium build anglers who want more cockpit room and hull efficiency.

The Hobie Mirage Revolution 11 takes after its thirteen foot big brother offering an efficient ride made for anglers in a smaller 11.5' footprint. The Revo 11 incorporates the mirage drive, two flush mount rod holders, and a 300lb capacity.

NuCanoe is debuting the Frontier 12, a reformulated design that incorporates a ton of new features in a boat that can be configured for solo or tandem operation. The Frontier has a rock solid design for standing, a 70" track which accommodates any seat configuration desired with 360 degree swivel seats, and an internal gear vault and scuppers making it ready for even the wettest environments.
