Surf Fishing

were about to go on vacation to the beach in Delaware in the beginning of may and i love to surf fish. although i love to do it, i never catch much of anything. what bait would work best in the atlantic ocean at this time or year?

Sand worm is my go to bait this time of year. You can get flounder and stripers useing it, as well as anything else around. Good luck.

what would a good secodary bait be? im a guy who just buys the basics all the time (squid,mullet, shrimp)but im going with family this year and really wanna catch some fish. also keep in mind that ill be there mid may in delaware so the water will probably still be pretty chilled

Cut bunker (pogies) generally work well. Or fresh mackerel.

My suggestion is to find a local tackle shop and ask for advice.

I agree, ask the local bait shop in the area. We'er getting blue fish here in CT. Crazy weather. [crazy] Way to early.
