Nissan outboard dies when connected to tank
#1
Anyone have any gas line troubleshooting tips? I have a fairly new Nissan outboard that runs fine when I pump some gas into the engine with the bulb and then disconnect the gas tank and hose. As soon as I plug the gas hose back onto the engine it dies almost immediately. The blub and hose seem to be in good shape and the tank fuel cap is venting fine. It happens about 3 seconds after I connect the gas hose/line.

Sounds to me like you have a stuck needle and seat inside the carb. When the line is hooked up the carb starts flooding over and stalls out the engine.
